Waterproofing

Wet-area waterproofing completed to Australian Standard AS 3740 — the layer everything above it depends on.

Waterproofing is the part of a bathroom nobody sees and everything depends on. Once tiles are down, a shortcut in the membrane or the falls cannot be corrected without pulling the room apart again.

We treat waterproofing as a standalone discipline rather than a step tucked inside tiling, with wet-area work completed to Australian Standard AS 3740 and prepared, applied and checked in its own right. A waterproofing certificate is provided when applicable waterproofing work is completed.

What this covers

  • Bathroom Waterproofing
  • Shower Waterproofing
  • Puddle Flange & Drain Preparation
  • Substrate & Cement Sheet Preparation
  • Shower Base Screeding & Falls
Bathroom with waterproofing membrane applied across the floor and walls, ready for tiling

How we approach it

Substrate first
Cement sheeting, junctions and penetrations are prepared and made sound before any membrane is applied.
Drains and falls
Puddle flanges and drains are set correctly and shower bases screeded to fall so water goes where it should.
AS 3740 waterproofing
Wet-area waterproofing is completed to Australian Standard AS 3740, with each layer applied in the correct sequence before tiling starts.
